Successful completion of studies at the winter school of the Beijing Institute of Technology

On January from 7th to 19th, the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) held 2024 Chinese Language and Multicultural Practice Winter Program of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Russian students from the MPEI, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) and Bauman Moscow State Technical University took part in the program as well as students from South Korea.

From the MPEI side, Irina Sazonova, a leading specialist of the Department on International Relations, a Ph.D.-student of the Department of management in Power Engineering and Industry in the Engineering-Economic Institute (EEI) took part in the winter school.

The program consisted of Chinese language classes and a cultural program that included visits to the Forbidden City, the Summer Garden, the Great Wall of China.

On the first day, there was an opening ceremony with the excursion into the history of the university, the campus, bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs, as well as summer schools. Classes with communicative teaching methodology helped students speak Chinese from the first lesson.

"The high organization of the winter school helped us quickly adapt to the new environment: volunteers met us from the airport, helped us settle into the hotel and told us where to replenish the student card to pay for food in the dining room. After classes, we had free time, and we walked around the campus, the city, talked with the Russian people who came to the long-term program in the BIT. Winter school is not only a great opportunity to learn the basics of the language and get acquainted with culture but also an opportunity to make an informed decision for yourself about long–term study at a Chinese university", - Irina Sazonova said.

At the closing ceremony, the office of International students of the BIT solemnly presented certificates to all participants of the program and showed students a touching video with their participation made during the entire training period.
